Terms for using InspectorDex, the guide to home inspectors and to the companies that handle what an inspection finds.
About these terms
These terms apply to your use of InspectorDex (inspectordex.com), a free guide to home inspectors and to foundation repair, water damage restoration, mold remediation, radon mitigation and pest control companies in the United States. By using the site you accept them.
Not an inspection and not advice
The lists help you find and compare companies. They are not a home inspection, an inspection report, a repair estimate or an appraisal. They are not legal, financial, insurance, real estate or engineering advice, and they do not replace a qualified professional looking at the property itself.
We are not one of the listed companies
InspectorDex does not inspect, repair or treat properties, does not book appointments, does not charge users and does not guarantee the quality, price, availability or license status of any company. Any agreement is between you and the company you hire.
How the lists are made
From the public information of each company (what it does, what its clients say about it, the services it publishes, its contact details and hours) and the criteria set out in “How we select”. Companies on a Top plan appear in highlighted positions and those on a Pro plan show a fuller profile. Both carry their label.
Check before you hire
We review the lists from time to time, but phone numbers, hours, prices, warranties and licenses change. Confirm them with the company and, where your state licenses that kind of work, with the state board or agency.
Listings and the business area
Anyone who claims a company listing states that they are authorized to manage it, that what they publish is accurate and not misleading, and that the company holds the licenses its work requires. We may review and remove text or details that are inaccurate or misleading. The terms of each plan are in the business area.
What you may not do
Use the site for anything unlawful, copy its lists with automated tools, try to reach restricted areas, pretend to be another person or company, or give false information.
Content
The texts, selection criteria, list order and design of InspectorDex and its name belong to us or are used with permission. You may link to the site and quote it with credit. Reproducing a substantial part needs our permission.
Liability and changes
As far as the law allows, InspectorDex is not responsible for the services that listed companies provide or for the content of other websites. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by law. We may update these terms, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
